Take lens cap off with hood on? (70-200mm)

Hi, I have a 70-200mm f2.8 mk2 canon lens and was wondering how do you take off your lens cap when the lens hood is attached? For me to do it, I have to take off the lens hood and then the cap off!

On my tamron 17-50 f2.8 I can easily take off the lens cap whilst still attached to the lens hood as you can unlock the lens cap from the middle of the cap itself

Unless the mk2 is significantly different to the mk1, it's easy enough to get a finger in to the release on one side and remove it.

i always take the cap off before the hood goes on, but it may be worth looking at getting some center pinch lens caps if you want it the other way around.

Nikon lens caps are far better for this. But then Everything Nikon is far better!!

nikons are for beginners canon are for people who are pros and want the best hehe but ontopc i might get tha lens cap.

Pros using lens caps made by the likes of Tamron??? lol.. I never undestood why Canon didn't do decent lenscaps for their lenses???
