Hi all,
I am flying to bulgaria on the 27th of May from East Midlands.
I was wondering what experiance people have had taking your kit on a plane.
It's my first DSLR so have never done it before.
I don't have a huge kit and it all fits in a rucksack style bag.

Cheers.

Took my 400d in my Lowepro rucksack on the plane with me in March to Latvia. No problems. I made sure it stayed on the floor by my legs the whole time so I knew it was safe.

I have taken my kit as hand luggage and had no problems as long as it fits through the xray machine you should be fine.

Putting it in your hand luggage shouldn't be a problem. I took my D70s in my hand luggage on Easyjet from Luton-Budapest and Amsterdam-Luton. Also carried it from Heathrow-Tokyo and back again.

Have fun, hope you get some good snaps.

cheers all.

Have just checked all the size restictions and it should be fine.

Make sure your bag complies with the airline's carry-on regulations. Airlines differ massively in this respect so check with your airline or check the table here. Other than that you should have no problems. X-rays can't hurt DSLRs.

If you get a window seat, remember to show us your best shots from 35,000 feet!

Yeah I have to agree with what everyone else said really.
After numerous trips from Prague to Bristol and occasionally to Heathrow or Gatwick, I've never had a problem with gear as carry on.
