I`m looking to take out insurance on my camera for when I take it abroad next month, Can anyone recommend any insurance company's I could go with?

Thanks

Can't comment on the insurance side but take photocopies of all your receipts for the camera / lenses etc. with you. If UK customs get interested on your return the paperwork will prove you're not importing the items... ;)

Check out your travel insurance policy and see what personal possessions in covers. I can recommend a broker if you need one..

Where are you traveling to?

Travel insurance policies often have restrictions on personal possessions such as £500 limit and one item only so might not be the best choice.

I cover my gear abroad through my house/contents cover - it covers me for personal possessions worldwide with total cover of £4000 and limit of up to £1500 for any single item. Check your policy to see what you're covered for. I can increase these limits if I pay a higher premium so if yours isnt sufficient you may be able to upgrade for a small extra cost

Before you go, make a note of all serial numbers incase you need to claim

Any of the usual suspects that crop up every time insurance questions crop up on the forum should be able to quote you.

Aaduki/Photoguard etc.

My house insurance covers me for £4000 worth of gear whilst abroad, with a single limit of £1500 as well.

Don't have to pay any extra as it's already included.
