I have been asked to shoot at a talent show in December. The venue is inside a college main hall and is well lit by standard lighting but at the time of the shoot it will be dark outside, so no natural light. It will be a variety of acts including singers, bands and stand up. My question being does anyone have any previous experience in this field, most of the work I have done has been outside, but I'm just wondering if anyone could give me any tips or gear advice. I'm most likely going to switch between an 18-70mm and a 35mm 1.8 with the hope I'm close enough to the action to not need the 70-300

Anyone got any pointers please?

Thanks!

Go along and recce the site... then you will know :D

Thanks, will get a look and work stuff out. I'm expecting it to be high ISO and fast glass so 35mm might get good use. Just hoping its close enough to avoid the 70-300.. nightmare to use sometimes

Was considering what you say, thinking I may need to go wide for bands if there are any but closer up if its one person. Apparently I will be allowed up close to the actual stage, would make life easier
