I need a tall tripod, is there any on the market where the tripod is tall without using a center column to the extremes? I'm six foot tall to give you an idea of the height I should be looking at.

Just bought a Sunwayfoto ballhead so budget is around the £150 mark, as my total budget was £300. Don't mind secondhand.

Also, the tripod is for home use only and I'm not too bothered on the weight as it won't be used outdoors and it's not something I will lug around.

The old benbo mk 2 was pretty tall, or if you can find one a theodolite tripod is solid and tall, it has got pointed feet but you can get covers, and they are cheap. I wouldn't want to carry one far though.

Manfrotto 058 is 191cm without the centre column raised (217cm with it up), but for your budget you would be looking at a used one probably. 6.7 kg so not lightweight but if it's mostly for home use that should be OK. Rock solid bit of kit.

Thanks for the replies folks I will investigate the recommendations. Just had a quick look at the Gitzo ,but they are over £500 so way over budget at present, unless I can find a SH one.

To keep to the rules and before someone reports Glyn, I have sent him a PM to direct me to his advert for his tripod.

I had a Manfrotto 058 advertised some weeks ago on here but no takers.
