Tamron 10-24mm

After heading out with the intention of buying a Tamron 17-50mm and finding every shop didn't stock it, I opted for a a Tamron 10-24mm. I have read about this before and it sounded ok. I quite like the idea of a super wide lens (for a crop sensor SLR).

Just wondering what peoples thoughts are on this. I intend using it for urban photography, a walk around lens, and also in the next few days, landscapes (already bought a circular polarising filter for it). Have a bought a decent lens?
 
Urban landscapes will be very good, street photography will be difficult. Once you've got the thing on the front of the camera you've got to get bloody close to make a good picture. I know street is close, but anything other than full zoom will be very wide.

That said its a cracking lens and a wise choice on a crop :)
 
See thats what I have read, some saying it is very good, others that it is soft. I seen a video of the lens on youtube saying it was soft and the focus is slow, however, focus on mine is much quicker than what was on the video. Maybe they made changes....

Sigma and Tamron are hit or miss with quality. Some people say they got a good copy others say not so good. If you shoot canon buy some L glass. I have owned both sigma and tamron and I can say mine were about the same quality wise.
