Tamron 17-50 VC

After seeing many reviews and good words about this lens I decided to go and have a look at one to give it a test. I decided that I wanted the VC version as I may do a bit of video with it in the future and read that his may be a benefit.

Whilst trying the lens I noticed that the view twitched whilst I was depressing the shutter release button with the VC on, but not when it was switched off, does anyone know if this is right?

I then had the thought that will this always be happening when I do any video work?

When asking the guy serving me he said to turn the VC off when doing the video, is this the best thing to do?

I was ready to buy this lens, but with the new queries in my head I decided to give it a miss and come and get some more info on this site before making my decision.

Yes, the Tamron does a little twitch as the VC kicks in.
Same happens with Sigmas OS.

Thanks for the confirmation Mike, dont suppose you know how this affects video at all do you?

Sorry, afraid not. in the 4 years that I have had a video capable DSLR I have only tried it once and that was handheld with a Sigma 50-500mm (not recommended btw)

He did quote the D300, do you think it will be the same with a D7000?
