Yes
Been thinking of this for a while but decided to go for the non vc version the vc version was out of my budget anyway and I dont think that IS or VC is nesersary at these focal lengths what do you guys think ?
just ordered it from one stop digital for £239 all in :)
will be a big improvement to the std lens that came with the 350D :)
Pete

is the one you got a motorised version

i was looking at the tamron 28-75 f2.8 which doens't have VR/IC but there are two models motorised and non motorised focus, and still not sure which would be best either

I think they are both fantastic lenses and that you will be pleased with the lens :)
It'll be a massive improvement over the kit.

I went for the VC (only £410 delivered), but I find the VC useful in lowlight and as I do alot of indoor shots, handheld, it was the obvious choice for me :)

jn0, any test shots with the new lens?

Hi its the SP AF17-50mm f/2.8 XR Di II LD Aspherical canon fit not sure about the focus type though  I didnt know that there was two type's
Have i bought the right one guys ?

Tripod mounted I take it? Then yeah the VC is pretty redundant :)

Yep will be with tripod , I havent done much landscape stuff but I live in North Wales so ought to give it a go :D

I've just ordered the non-VC version from Onestop also, but i once had the same lens on an A100. I thought it was a fantastic lens and can see this new version really having a slight benefit in low light indoors shooting.

At that, i can't afford the spend the extra £200 for all the extra it gives.

I can't see the point in a fast sub-50mm lens with VC/VR/IS, it's just a marketing gimmick.

What about people who have a problem with nerve endings in their arms that cause them to shake?

arrived today from one stop digital for £239 all in, did not get caught for tax either:D

Nice :) but the tax will come through afterwards ;)
Tax on my R-Strap and Tokina 116 was invoiced about 3 weeks after delivery.
