Hi all,
Just a quicky, I was looking to get the non-VC version of this lens when I get my D90 for my lightweight-but-not-crippled kit (compared to FF!), as it's a a greatly regarded lens bar the noisy AF motor.
Now what I didn't notice until looking on camerapricebuster, is that you can still get the non-VC version new in the shops!
However looking between Canon and Nikon mount, there's one crucial difference...
Canon : Tamron SP AF 17-50mm f/2.8 XR Di II LD Aspherical IF
Nikon : Tamron SP AF 17-50mm f/2.8 XR Di II LD IF mkII + motor
This is at Park Cameras, is the Nikon version missing the Aspherical element? that definitely worries me somewhat.
Also, does anyone know if these are older stock, or are Tamron still making the non-VC model?
Hate to be a stickler, but I'm essentially getting this as a gift and want to make sure I don't have to change it. I'm more nervous buying new than I am buying used!
