Hello,

I was wondering if anybody had any experiences with the following lens?

Tamron 18-200mm f3.5-6.3 XR DI II Lens

Thanks,

Chris.

Yes.....it's poo!!

Slowest focusing ever, very poor image quality and you'll hate every minute of owning it.....don't waste your money, or your time.....just buy something better from the start!! ;)

Why are you thinking of buying one? What's your budget, and what type of things do you shoot the most?

Slow AF,wouldn't go out and buy it brand new. Got mine for £35, still got it. Useful as a holiday lens, wouldn't shed a tear if it gets dropped or stolen ***. Better alternatives include the canon 18-200, sigma/tamron 18-250/270.

Yeah I read bad reviews on that lens. However, I recently bought the Tamron 18-250 and its now the only lens I own.

i had this lens for my pentax gear, heres a pic from it on a 6mp k100d super(big crop)

i used this lens alot on my k100d and k200d and k20d. i found it to be great, the af was not rapid but was ok, i paid £169 for it, and i paid £500 for my nikon 18-200mm and yes its better but £300 pound better i dont thinks so, the tamron suffers from purple fringing but can (easly be in removed in p&p) try one before you buy.
