has anyone got this lens the Tamron 18-270mm f3.5-6.3 VC PZD Lens - Nikon fit?
If so I would be interested what members thought of this lens as a pal of mine has just purchased one and is very pleased with it.

i had one when i first got my d300 and sent it back because it was faulty, but it was not it was me and not relising that i had focus delay on so when focusing in afc it would take its time to focus so went back and i got an 18-200mm vr, and to be honest the image quality was every bit as good will try find some pics if you want af speed was as good as the nikon and the extra 70mm is handy.

Thanks for the quick reply Scott. I have to say I am considering it as a walkabout lens for holidays, it will save having to carry several lenses about.

at least in Sony fit the Sigma 18-250 OS is reckoned to be better all around albeit heavier.

Thanks for that Scott, the more people that answer helps with my decision

I've got the earlier Tamron 18-270 non-pzd version, which is basically the same glass but with a less efficient and noisier autofocus system. It's got a few rough edges, e.g. the zoom is a bit sticky in the middle of the range, but the results are perfectly acceptable to me. I do normally use it in aperture priority mode, with the aperture set below the widest setting.

Thanks for your reply Eric, it is actually the latest version I am really interested in, but your reply is most welcome.

Like roseway I also have the earlier tamron lens on a canon 450d body the lens produces good pictures but the zoom is a bit stiff like he said which can be annoying!!
