Hi, I have two queries about this lens which I have owned for about 18 months.
Firstly the zoom is quite sticky through the mid range not very easy going at all can make you feel quite clumsy at times is this how the lens should be its been like it since day dot, my father in law has a tamron 18-250 which zooms very well no problem at all!
Secondly I've wanting something with more range for a while now but being that the arse has completely fallen out the building trade I have been Un able to come up with the funds for a bigma or maybe 100-400!! So was wandering could you add a 1.4 tc to my tamron??
Probably showing my complete amateur status in the photography game by asking this but I'm constantly on here trying to learn and thought I'd ask!!dde09

Also would anybody agree that at full length the iq can sometimes be a bit soft!
I'm wandering if I should do away with it and step down to an 18-250!
 
I've had a go with an 18-270 PZD and the zoom is smooth throughout the whole range and not sticky at all, with all superzooms you will find the sharpness drops off specially at the long end. I had a Tamron 28-300 VC which was sharp up to around 275-280 but dropped off just before the end. And as far as I know, there isn't a TC that fits with the EF-S mount, but I'm sure if there is, someone will be along to correct me.
I gave up on superzooms in the end and got an 18-55 IS and a 55-250 IS, which are both very good lenses for the price and both give very good IQ. Since I got a 5D2 to pair with my 7D I have given my 550D and EF-S lenses to my wife and I just use EF lenses now.
