Tamron 180mm Macro questions

How do folks. I'm getting a Tamron 180mm Macro lens and have a couple of questions for people that use it. First up, can I use a teleconverter with it and my D90? I read that the Nikon TC won't work - how about the Kenko PRO 300 1.4? Has anyone tried this combination? I can't find the page where I read about the Nikon TC, but apparently there's a bit that sticks up and prevents its use with third-party lenses. It was on the internets so it must be true. :lol:

Also, can anyone recommend a padded case for the Tammy please? Thanks in advance. :)

you are right with the converter, I use it on my sigma 180 macro...it works brill
and a very easy conversion to do, plenty on the web for the conversion..mark
 
Thanks Mark. I'm having a bit of a blonde moment though - do you mean the Kenko needs converting somehow to work? Thanks.
