Tamron 19-35

I had one a few years back (may be a slightly different model) and was never very impressed, but like you say it filled a gap. Eventually I sold it a bought a better lens in the range, the difference in quality was huge. The Tamron is cheap and works well enough if you stop it down a fair bit, but it's not great and it may frustrate you.

As an aside I know a couple of people who have been having problems with orders with camerabox in the last week...

To be honest the gap filler will probably turn into my walkabout so don't want something that's likely to annoy me. I'd love a 2.8 ideally but budgets are tight..

I had a Cosina 19-35 which I think isv the same model under a different brand name and it was certainly better than OK for 35mm and digital as long as it was stopped down to f8 and below
