Tamron 28-105mm F/2.8 (TWO POINT EIGHT!!) Canon fit lens (Full frame!!)

Who has seen one of these beasts before?

I've had it a little while, it's quite an impressive bit of kit. I wondered what others thought of it? I don't see them around all at all.

I think it's based around a pre digital design but it's fully compatible with the latest and greatest Canon gear. Auto focus and aperture etc.

Yeah, that's what I meant to say. I used to have some Sigma lenses that were designed for 35mm but worked great on digital. They cost very little too compared to the newer digital versions.

No just ordinary as ok in comparison with any lens

To be fair I'm not blown away by the sample photos, look very average.

It does have an attractive range and aperture. Might be the perfect choice for those who can't decide whether to go for the Canon 24-105 f4 or the 24-70 f2.8.

Exactly! I know the pictures may not be the best quality but for the £220 ish quid this lens is worth it makes a great budget full frame companion.

sorry, but I much rather buy tamrons 28-75mm for that money.
I wouldn't pay 70 pounds for this lens tbh.

I'd want to judge the IQ of both lenses side by side before making such a sweeping statement.

Perhaps the samples I posted were chosen a little hastily. Overcast days. I've used this lens mostly for portraits and group shots and don't want to put up pictures from jobs I've done...

The idea of posting this thread wasn't to get feedback on the quality of the shots. It's great at 5.6, good at 4 and 2.8 is there and usable when you need it.

I was more posting this for interest because as Lord Flasheart, I mean "woof woof" says, there isn't any modern equivalents.

it's just how I feel tbh, looking at it, age etc. I understand that it's worth more.

I recognise the Cambridge bin man, he has had a bit of agro recently, stuff like pouring bleach in his bin and also been set alight I think (when he was absent thankfully)

Really?! I reckon it is other performs jealous of how awesome he is. That photo was shot last July, it was graduation day.
