I have a Tamron 70-300 which I bought thinking I needed it for low level miitary aircraft in the Loop and for animal close ups at the zoo / wildlife.
Having spent last Monday at the Loop and seen some great activity but missed several shots due to the woefully slow focus action of the Tamron, I'm wondering if the Beercan may be the better option.
I'd miss the extra length for animals but now realise 200mm is adequate for the jets.
I gather the quality of the optics on the Minolta is superior
Question (for Beercan aficionados) - is the focus action fast enough for a jet at 500 knots?
Thanks.
Andy
