Tamron 70-300 VC - good for beginner to DSLR?

Hi everyone.

Hope you are all ok.

I have ventured into the DSLR world with a Nikon D3100.

I wanted to get a decent zoom lens to work with for sport, wildlife, and distance photos, etc... and wondered if the Tamron 70-300 VC lens would be a good lens to have a look at getting 2nd hand, to have a play with and learn with.

I am a beginner so at the moment i probably let my equipment down, but i do want to learn, and i would like a decent low price zoom lens, which is why i wanted to have a look at the Tamron 70-300 VC, as it seems a decent price.

Has anyone used the lens please? Any recommendations or advice regarding the Tamron please?

I used to have this lens and rate it very highly! Image quality was fantastic and the vc works like a charm.Tried it along side the nikon version and much preferred the tamron.I dont think you will be disappointed.
 
I just bought one myself after trying it.. had my doubts before but can confirm: it is amazing for what it costs.

Bought it used on another forum, is only 2 months old and not registered yet so good as new.
