After wanting one for a while and now waiting for the postie tomorrow, I will have one of these, all reviews are good or very good for a decent mid range walk about lens, has anyone got or had one, what are your thoughts on it.
I will be using it for walk about and aircraft shots and also trying my 2X converter with it for bird shots in the garden.

Any images using this les would be appreciated.

Now lets hope MPB get this delivered tomorrow so I can play.

That's good to see David, so you like it, roll on tomorrow, I will own one.

Yes, its an excellent lens. I remember when it came out Matt Granger did a video review of it and he thought it sharper than the Nikkor version. VC is a bit noisy but that's being picky.

An airshow one from me.

And its good for picking out details in landscapes too.

A Kenko TC will work with it but you do lose two stops and probably AF unless you have a 5d mk3 or better body.

The lens itself is really - good sharp and the VC works well if a little noisy.

If it doesn't work its no big loss as the lens is adequate for my needs without one, I bought the 2X converter on a whim so it may come up for sale to someone who could use it after Xmas, lets see first.

Is this kens F4 fixed aperture or variable?

Only had it 24hrs and can confirm its big and quite heavy, seems to be built like a tank so should take a bit of abuse
