Tamron 70-300mm Problem

I recently purchased the above lens from ebay. Its worked fine for about a month but now the lens won't extend beyond around 80mm. Any ideas what may be causing this?

Check the little switch that adjusts from normal to macro mode hasn't reverted to macro...

The switch is set to normal. When I realised it was stuck I was hoping that this was the problem. Thanks for the reply.
