I'm in a bit of a dilema ? Will I notice a massive loss in reach using the new tamron on a canon for (mostly) birds vs my olympus with 70-300? heres why I can't get my head round it...
the oly at 300mm has effective focal length of 600mm but 12 megapixels
the canon is 300mm efl 450mm? but could crop more at 16 megapixels?
The dilema is because I make wildlife films with camcorder and the oly 520 for stills but the canon 550d shoots great video and the tamron would bring the two in cheaper than a camcorder + camera and I would only have one camera to carry. I know the canon 100-400 is better for birds but I don't have a spare £900...
anything I've missed?
