Is anyone possibly able to show me the results you get from one of these?

:) Pretty please

Hello there! :) I don't have this lens, however I can definitely tell you that its not the sharpest thing in the world and the AF is slow (tried one in the shop and a friend has one). I have heard many "so, so" reviews and personally I would be tempted to go for an older EF 75-300 or 70-300, which probably would not cost you much more.

I found a website with some sample pics (they are not the best, but a few should give you an idea): http://www.pbase.com/cameras/tamron/af_75300_456_ld_macro

All the best and good luck in making your choice! :)

I have this lens, and i would not reccommend it. As above, its not very sharp, and the AF is very slow.

I dont have any sample pics though sorry

I to have this lens on a Sony a300, I have had some very good results but also more very dissapointing results

3, And a bad one

The first two are very nice, and the 3rd one has nothing to do with the lens, and everything to do with the cameras AF setting and shutter speed (aka "user error")

The camera was set on continous AF, Spot AF Area and shutter priority 1/250 at f6.3.
I have shots at the same location which are sharper but at the same settings

Which proves my point... its NOT the lens. 1/250 isn't enough to guaratee a sharp shot with an object coming towards you at 70mph.

You just got a bad shot. It happens. But you can't blame the lens for that.

well considering im still near enough new to photography, would you say its worth getting to use as i am new and later on selling it?

I would, and I did, twice!!! Nothing as good for the money IMHO (sometimes you can get used ones for around £80 or less).

Only other lens I would suggest at that price range is the Sigma 70-300 DG APO (red ring) but it costs 15-25% more.

I think I only can go to the price I could go with for the tamron, Im short on money at the moment, I dont even know if I can afford this one unless I can get it like 80 like u said.
