has anybody got a sp24-70mm vc nikon fit
trying to find out if the lens is any good ? as they are coming with a 5yr warranty
 
Haha, I'm actually in the market for a mid range zoom as well. Apparently the vibration control is really good. I'm sort of deciding between this or the Nikon 28-70 lens. Might end up getting the cheaper Tamron 28-75 f2.8 even haha
 
looks like nobody buys this lens but everyone gives it a great review :))

gary do you mean you have a canon 24-70 or the tamron 24-70 i think im having a blonde moment
if its the tamron version can you tell me a bit more about the pic iq ??

I ordered mine (Canon fit), I get it Wednesday, will let you know my thoughts.

It's funny, had the same thing with my Sigma 24-70 (which I just sold), they were hard to come by as nobody wanted them. Zoom lenses on 3rd party lenses seem to be ones nobody wants but everyone gets the primes!
 
I have tried two copies in different shops and I was blown away by the quality of that glass, unfortunatly my work has slown down alot and im finding my self £600 £700 lighter each month so i have to prioritise the morgage and bills but as soon as i can i will definetly buy the Tamron 24-70 2.8 vc usd. take ur selves to YouTube and ave a look at thatnikonguy and also Dave dugdale.
 
Got mine, after a 30 minute or so play I'm happy to report this is an outstanding lens.

Very sharp from 24mm right through to 70mm at f2.8 and flicking on IS with my shaky hands I can get a sharp shot at 1/20 at 70mm.

So far so happy I didn't spend an extra 1k on the 24-70 II. If I have to give the 24-70 II something, it's gotta be the focus is to be honest a bit faster.
