Hi folks. After a bit of advice... I'm having a problem with a Tamron 90mm SP Di macro. I've had it for several years now and its a great lens. I'm now getting an error 01 message when I connect it to my 6D though. Lens communication issue. The contacts appear to be clean but in truth I have never cleaned them and they 'look' as new... is it possible for them to fail even if they look fine? Other lenses work fine with camera by the way. I can occasionally take a shot but generally it makes nasty buzzing noises... even when the camera is powered off. Sounds like the AF motor or aperture mechanism is faulty... not sure.
Anyway the question is... I'm considering sending it to Tamron UK for a quote. Anyone ever done this? Any ideas how much it might cost?
