Tamron or sigma 70-200mm for nikon?

So the tittle says it all really, which one is better the tamron or sigma 70-200mm f/2.8? As my budget is £400 this rules out the nikon 80-200mm and 70-200mm!
If anyone could post some examples of sharpness for them both that'd be brilliant! Thanks!

Are you talking second hand as both of these lenses are in excess of £500 new, in fact more like £600

Your welcome, these two are both on my radar as well when I have the pennies, hence I knew the links quickly as ive only recently been looking, there are a few videos on youtube showing both of these lenses as well, might be worth a look

the tamron is suppose to be optically better and sharper wide open, but the sigma has faster af and silent, and also on the newer version os.

The OS Sigma is both heavier and much more expensive. Not quite the same range but have you looked the 50-150 from Sigma?

I have the Sigma, fantastic lens! Fast, very sharp (wide open as well) and very well built.

I've not used the Tamron, but I didn't consider it as the AF is supposed to be VERY slow, especially in low light conditions, and as I use the Sigma for a lot of indoor show jumping (which it excels at) the Tamron was already out of the running...

Can confirm the Tamron is slow AF, I didn't really realise how slow it was until I got a chance to compare to a Nikon, so sold it and now holding out for something faster.

I've got the Sigma and would recommend it 100%.. It's nice & quick to focus in low light, and is lovely and sharp,even wide open on the D90 as it's a FF lens.
