hi, ive done another thread before about lens's, im on the lookout for new ones, currently have the canon 18-55 kit lens, 28-135 is usm lens and a 135-400 siggy..

being that i cant afford L glass im wondering whats the next best thing?

eventually i want a 70-200L and a 100-400L.

what would you recommend to cover the shorter end thats better than my 28-135 is usm but cheaper than a £1000 bit of L glass??
it would mainly be used for portrait and walk about use..
or should i keep the is usm lens and just get a nifty fifty?

arrr!! i hate choice, and especially when i have limited budget..:bang: lol

all help appreciated.

Tamron 17-50mm f/2.8 is awesome - probably my fave lens ATM. Super-sharp, well made and has good AF. Works great on a crop body and is lightweight compared to equivelant OEM versions. Cheap too - £230 should see you get a new one.

Alternatively there's the Tammy 28-75mm f/2.8, which is a gain highly regarded. Think that's £280 and optically the next best thing from an OEM f/2.8 24/28-70mm.

I've always liked Tokina glass...

Currently got a 20-35mm f/2.8 and an 80-400mm f/4.5-5.6 and I love them both...
