Yes
I was wondering if it was worth upgrading from the Tamron 70-300, to the Nikon 70-300?

The Tamron at 300mm isn't the best and I would like to see something better. Would it be worth the upgrade?

I would say definately. The Nikon 70-300 VR is recognised as one of Nikons best budget lens and the results from it are really sharp. Added to this the VR is very impressive and effective. I think you will be pleased with this upgrade.

I've never used the Tamron but I have the Nikon and love it

very good value for money

I had a tamron 70-300 which came with my d60 as a bundle I didn't get on with it focus was poor used a NIKON for a week ( borrowed) loads better I felt never missed focus and found it a better lens overall.

You could also check out www.pixel-peeper.com just input a lens & camera body etc & then view the photo's..

I made that move a while ago. Huge improvement! The Nikon is a great lens. You should maybe also consider the Tamron 70-300 VC as well as that seems to be attracting good reviews.

Is the Tamron the VC USD version or the non VC one? Although I'm a Canon user I do love the look of the Nikon's 70-300 VR it's newer and much more modern than the Canon's 70-300 IS USM
