Tamron Tripod Rings?

Hi Guys,

Does anyone know where to get tripod rings for Tamron lenses? My tripod head isn't strong enough to support the lens, it always flops down! :( Or can I use any tripod ring? It's just the girth i will have to keep an eye on? :thinking:

I have a £10 tripod from 7dayshop, which could be another reason why the head is a bit rubbish, so also, should i save money/ebay a new tripod?

Does anyone have any ideas to stop the head from falling down when my lens is on? The head is on as tightly as possible.
 
I think you answered your own question in post one!

£10 tripod, most photographers pay more than that for a quick release plate.

Haha, thanks guys, will invest in a new one then! Any recommendations? :help: - I think my budget would be about £150 max... Though i could push to £200, but i want a new walk about lens. - Digital Camera advertises the 3leggedthings, they any good? (expensive though)

Lasted me through my GCSE photography and a trip to America in 2009 and still works, so at least it's been well used. :thumbs:

You can get a decent Redsnapper tripod NEW for under £100, you should be able to pickup a nice Manfrotto or similar secondhand on here if you keep a look out.

Is all the weight on the lens that cause the tripod head flops down.

I use digital camera tripod that can support up to 8kg because i don't have money to buy another one for my DSLR but it works fine so i'm ok at the moment.

I can't see my camera body with grip and a 70-200 f2.8 can weight more than 8kg lol.

Look out for the weight supported on the tripod. I always look for that when buying camera tripod.

Cheers mate! Will keep an eye. :) The Red Snapper pod im looking at can support up to 12kgs!
