I live in a remote area and enjoy long walks on the lookout for wildlife subjects. Today, I sadly took a fall after tripping in a pothole. The Tamron 18-400 mm zoom is a handy light weight lens suiting my abilities but it sustained damage in said fall., this being the detachment of the UV filter and the plastic end ring of the lens body into which it screws. I am far from camera shops so I am asking please for advice as to the means of re-attaching the plastic ring to the camera body - click-on, twist -on, bayonet, or???. The 3 fine metal curved plates on the exposed end of the lens body may have been bent and so preventing the easy reattachment of the ring and I am reluctant to force the parts together! The camera and lens still operate well, but any diagnoses or advice for repair gladly welcomed!
