i really like your second image, it gives a great sense of scale the the gallery, and to gwt just one person in the shot, that takes some doing at the tate! great, thanks for posting
 
I quite like the first shot but the second is just brilliant. Simple, elegant and lovely balance.
 
My preference is actually the first. Second is too empty for me :shrug:

That's why I like it, instant switch off of the comfort zone. :)
 
hmmmm theres a black pillar on the first on on the right hand side that is just visible, would be nice to see that cropped out, seems a little awkward there, not quite in, not quite out.

The second one i love, very simple, there is something about the way she is facing that seems a little wrong, i'd like her to be facing into the rest of the frame not out of it at the edge.

Those are two nitpicking points, both very good shots.
 
I agree, both nice shots, but the second has the edge. Well taken.

MichaelPlace: you are right about the first photo - cropped looks much better!
about the second photo - i can tell you - i tried to place that girl at the top, looking down - but whole picture was then so usual and... obvious... that's why i decided to break a rule.
