TC 1.4 help

Hi folks!
I have recently acquired a Nikon 300mm F4 the older version (built like a tank one), looking to buy a TC for it (1.4), am I right in saying the nikon TC's won't fit this lens and I need to look at a third party one?

Hi Graham, as a Canon user I can't help you directly with the Nikon TC's, however I can reccommend you getting a Kenko Pro300 DGX 1.4x as a 3rd party TC. I got one a few months ago and they are excellent, hardly any image degradation and the AF is still reasonably fast, and according to the compatability list, will work fine with your lens.
