Hi

I'm going to Porte Lymn soon on one of their Gorilla days and think I need a bit more reach than my Nikon 70-200 so I'm thinking of getting a TC......but which one?

Any advice welcome?
 
looking around I've seen the KENKO 2X DGX 7El Conv Nikon Fit and reviews seem good

Any views on this combination?
 
Stay away from 2x converters you will be disappointed, either the Kenko/nikon 1.4x is very good and the Nikon 1.7x is not too bad

I use both the Nikon 1.4x and 2x on my 70-200.

You need a bright day and the ability to stop down to make the 2x worth using. If a bit more reach will do, I would go for the 1.4x
 
Thanks guys I'll go for the 1.4 x or possibly hire something with a bit more reach .

Can anyone recomend somewhere to hire Nikon lenses from?

Totally disagree. Try the new Nikon 2 x converter. I had the old one and now have the new one and in my opinion the new one is miles better. ;)
140-400mm 5.6. Not bad eh? :D
This was using the 300mm with 2 x fitted.

I'll look at the Nikon 1.7 converter as well then.

So much choice and so little money :o)
