Hi ya

I just manage to buy a cheap good condition Canon 1Ds Mark II

reason I bout this was it was cheap and for the full frame.

I have a 50D at the moment and like it but am just lacking bacause of the Frame etc.

well my question is

mine as I believe a digic 4 processor where as the 1ds mark 2 has a digic 2

whats the real differences is.. am I going to get better images out of the 1ds or have I just made a silly mistake buying it.

For studio, portaiture, candids and landscape stuff then you've made a good move. If you're out chasing small birds or more distant fast things (a la motor racing etc) then possible not the best way forwards.
Digig II or IV.....I wouldn't worry about it....incidentally, there are two Digic II's in the 1DsII versus one Digic IV in the 50D

its mainly studio stuff mate , but I want to move to models outside of the studio and I am having trouble with IQ so I got offered the 1ds and I thought the full frame sensor would help with my troubles... I won't need the high ISO

I think I should be ok , I just can't afford a 5d Mark II yet although if I could sell both my camera's I'd probably be able to afford it now :cuckoo:

I just got this 1ds on a take it now and pay me off monthly arrangement :thumbs:

I would think a 1Ds2 is a better option that a 5D2....save your money mate.

I haven't used the 5d mark II yet , but my boss has the 1ds Mark III

Had a 1Ds 2 for over 3 years and used and abused it from the dessert to the antarctic, dropped it several times, had it soaked and never had a single fault. Great camera, great IQ. Can never imagine going back to a crop.
