Tele Converters for 70-200mm VR I

I know there are mixed reviews, and opinions, on the use of TC's with Nikon's 70-200mm VR I, but what actual experiences do users have? I'd envisage making use of a TC for motorsport, and possibly, some travel photography.
Using a D90, and D700.
 
Hi kartracer. I used a 70-200 f2.8 VR 1 with a TC-20E 11 on my D300 when I went to Africa. Never had a problem. Take a look at my animal photos in my gallery. They were all taken with this setup. Drawbacks, it does get a bit heavy but other than that no probs. (y)(y)
