tele lens for Nikon D70s?

Hello all,

I'm sure this has been answered a thousand times but I couldn't find it in a quick search.

I need to buy a kind of all rounder (not too dear) tele lens for my D70s - For the moment I just have the standard 18-70mm on it - I'm a it lost as to where to start looking. I'm very much an amateur but would like to be able to get a little closer. I sometimes do photo reports for friends - concerts, small events (horses, dogs...).

I am very photo mad but also reasonably broke (for reasons other than photography) and don't really have any equipment other than what's on the camera as I only switched from film to digital with this camera.

I would like to keep weight down as I have serious tendon issues in my wrists.

Are you looking to replace your 18-70 or compliment it?

If you are looking to replace be ready to fork out more. If however you want to compliment your 18-70 (The better option IMO) then the Sigma 70-300 APO may be a good choice. It will do pretty much everything you want. However if you are shooting concerts indoors be prepared to use flash.
