Teleconverter advice.

I am looking for a teleconverter that i can use on my Sigma 70-200f2.8 mkII and Nikon D90.
Mainly interested in the 1.4X size and want one that is of a good quality.

General rule of thumb is buy siggy TC for siggy lenses, Nikon TC for nikon lenses, or by the Kenko one as a fits all jobby.

I use the Kenko MC-7 x2 TC on siggy 70-200 f/2.8 on a Canon setup and it works perfectly.

I should imagine the Nikon fit Kenkos are just as good.

Get either the NC-7 or DG Pro version though, not the entry level one (can't remember what its called) as the IQ will suffer.

How many stops are lost when using an X2 converter?

I think you lose 2 stops.

Ive always gone for Kenko Pro DG 300 when ive needed one for a Sigma Lens as i personally think they suffer less of a hit to the IQ than Sigma converters, you do tend to lose a little contrast with either the Kenko or Sigma but a little PP brings it back.
