Hi all

Can anyone tell me, can you get a 2x teleconverter for a tamron 70-200mm f/2.8?

Yup you can get a

Kenko or Canon 1.4x that will make your lens 1 stop down effectively.

or

Canon 2x that will lose you about 2 stops.

I sometimes use my 100-400L with a Kenko Pro dg 1.4 teleconvertor, great for my Birdy photography.

so a canon one would work with a tamron lens then?

I don't think a Canon TC will work with non Canon lenses - something to do with either protruding bits on the Canon TC or on the lenses which fit it.

The Canon TC is only designed to fit certain lenses, and will not fit any other lens basically.

If you want a generic fit TC get the Kenko Pro 300 ones, either 1.4x or 2x.

Thats what i have been trying to find out, whether it had to be a specific tamron teleconverter, or if there where generic ones etc

Oh, did forget to ask, would i still have autofocus using a generic tc?

MPB photographic has a Kenko 2x that will work great with the Tamron.
