Hey all, can anyone recommend a teleconverter for my sigma 70-200 OS? I know the TC-20EII won't work due to the glass touching. Can anyone shed any light on this?

I think your only safe choices are Sigma's own 1.4x and 2x teleconverters.

I use a 2x Kenko on my non OS with good results.

Sigma 1.4 TC will retain AF and doesn't seem to impact on IQ either.

If you were nearer you could have had a go with mine.

I use Sigma 1.4x and 2.0x with my Sigma 70-200.

The 1.4 is nearly invisible. The 2.0 slows focusing down quite a bit and reduces contrast and sharpness too..

Thanks for the help guys, looked it up from the dimensions and even the nikon 2x should work in theory, I know its not supposed to as they say the glass touches, but the glass is about an inch inside the lens of the sigma so it would seem doubtful no?

Hi Jay
You'll still need to modify the Nikon converter - check out the link in my earlier post.
There is a small tag that needs to be removed in order for it to fit with a Sigma lens and even then the elements may be too close.
I'd stick with the Sigma but that's only my 2c.
cheers, cw

I'd think the Kenko converters generally work with most popular lenses. I've used mine on nearly all the lenses in my sig and a few others as well that I've borrowed. Been used on my Canon, Tamron and Sigma lenses with no problems. Sometimes the AF wont work but most of the time they do AF without problems and the Kenko doesn't give a bad hit to IQ either.

I think sigma lenses and teleconverters are matched, so that's probably best route tbh

Thanks guys think i'll look into the sigma 2x for now then as it seems the handiest route. Cheers for the help.
