Doubt if you would find a tele converter for your tamron lens, its a question of compatability connecting the two. I have the same lens and a Sigma 1.4TC and they don't marry up.
That leaves you with the extn tubes as the only option. My advice is to ask first if an extn tube will fit your Tamron, I don't have any, but my understanding of them is for use with a longer "mm" length lens, not for a lens already made as a macro lens
The way to go about TC hunting is to find what they are compatible with, they are not a fit all lens item.
My guess is you want something that will take a photo of the eye of a fly or similar with a Nikon camera. I would suggest finding a picture and send a PM to the person who took the photo and ask them what they used. Save hours of hunting and searching then getting the wrong item

I use both Kenko tubes and a Kenko 1.4 TC with my Tamron 90mm macro, on a D90.
With 48mm of tubes and the Kenko 1.4 TC I get about 2.5X magnification. I also use a SB600 with a diffuser, because using f/10 - f/16 apertures necessary to get any DOF at all with this setup, you need extra light.

Thanks, most of the last year's shots with the Tamron are with this set up.
