Teleconvertors & Nikon 300mm AF/S F4

I'll soon be in the market for a 1.4 teleconverter to use with my new 300mm lens. I've looked at both Nikon and Kenko with the Kenko half the price.

Has anyone got the Kenko Teleplus Pro 300 1.4X DGX on this lens who can give some advice.

I use the Kenko Pro 1.4 DG (the one before the DGX, same optics) on my 300mm f/4 AF-S and I am very impressed with it.
By all accounts the IQ is the same as the Nikon TC, the difference is that the Nikon is better built.

The Nikon also fits seamlessly between the camera and lens but the Kenko has a larger external diameter than the lens and can look a tad strange, great optics though.
