Hey there,

So I'm looking for a telephoto lens for getting into wildlife photography. Dont currently have a telephoto lens atm. I have a canon 90d. I was looking at the sigma 150-600mm. Any suggestions or recommendations?

Good choice really pleased with mine.
 
The Sigma 150-600 seems very well thought of but, as with most 600mm lenses, it's a bit of a large and heavy thing. If working from a hide or other static location and you can walk there with your kit easily enough, then no problem. If mobility and weight is more of an issue, could you manage with a 100-400mm lens?

If so, Canon's 100-400 L IS Mk II is reputed to be a very good lens, but it's quite expensive, even on the used market. If the price puts you off then perhaps have a look at the Sigma 100-400 and the Tamron 100-400. If looking at the reviews, there's been a firmware update on the Sigma version since a lot of them were written. However, the Tamron has weatherproofing and the Sigma only has that round the lens mount. Hope this is useful.
 
I have the sigma 80D with the Siggy 150-600 for the price it is excellent even with the teleconverter The Canon 100-400 Mark 2 is a great lens but you can buy 2 Siggys and have some change. If you buy the Siggy Dock you can further tweak the focus. I am in my 60s and have no issue with weight. I have also "the brick" Canon 1D mark 3 and it works well on this body too
 
One in the classifieds at 560 and black Friday looming you may just get lucky look on flea Bay as well curry's sold some a while back new at £599
