What have you used, what is your favourite length and why. I hope to glean some tips on what might be a good purchase in time to come.:)

Mine is an 85mm micro nikkor, I use it for work, doing close up pictures of fruit and veg, it's a nice size, not to big to carry round :)
 
I only wanted to dabble in macro so I didn't spend too much on mine, I got one of these:

..on here for about £80. Turns out it's one hell of a good lens! Didn't want too long a macro lens, not too fussed about the close working distance and it doubles up as a very high quality 'normal' prime that's ridiculously sharp wide open. I should really use it more often.

Sample shot, virtually straight out of camera as I recall. Could have done with more DOF but it was the first go I had with it so still learning at that point.
