testing SDHC cards

thought I would buy 1 larger 16GB card for the D5000 shooting RAW

read many 'stories' about fakes, and found a program to test cards called H2testw which i downloaded OK

tested the cards i have [ which i believe 100% are genuine] but i dont understand the results....:shake:

so if i dont understand the results on a 'real' card - how can i recognize a fake...:shrug:

write 8.44 Mb/s
read 16.2 Mb/s

write 9.07 Mb/s
read 18.4 Mb/s

why are the Read/Write values so much higher than the Class Rating

First, take class ratings with a big pinch of salt. Outside of the very top end cards you mileage will vary greatly.
Second, class ratings are the minimum they'll write at. While class 10 say, will write at 17-20mb/s, the are made to write no less than 10mb/s. Or so I understand it. I could be wrong.
Both your cards are within spec.
