I had a few moments this afternoon to try and shoot some shots on my D3s, I've only had it a few days and thought it a god idea to test. First off all seems very fine.

Here is a quick test the the 70-200.

I was VERY impressed as I'd heard bad things about this lens on full frame :thumbs:

Then this appeared, full shot first.

Anyone have any idea what could have caused what looks like a rip in the photo :shrug: I can see the spider web across the shot but checked that there was nothing hanging from it, yes if the shot was for some reason I could post it out but I'm just really curious as to why it is there in the first place :help:
 
If it were anywhere other than 'attached' to that web-strand, I'd be worried - it may have rotated slightly or fallen off by the time you went looking for it
 
If its not present in other shots then I would say it was 'actually there' rather than a problem with lens/camera.

Try taking many more shots and see if it shows again, you'll no doubt have a good warranty on the camera (at least a year) so plenty of time to find faults
 
Surely it would be a huge coincidence that its in exatcly the place the web is in. Looks like a petal or something, maybe you didnt see it, maybe it had blown away.

Lovely and sharp that first shot! that white mark was probably just something caught on the web. Like others say, see if you can reproduce it.

At that aperture and focal length you wouldn't see anything on the sensor or inside the lens.

You just caught an airborne somethingorother.
 
Its a part fallen off of one of the black helicopters, quick, get the tinfoil hat back on before they find you!!
 
tiny droplet on the web strand catching the light?
