Yes
Well here's the proof that Jadey is very very relieved that her mum and dad didn't get her a Canon for her birthday, you can see the relief in her face

 Has anyone got the number for nspcc?

You can almost see the dissapointment - Daddy I was hoping to get aproper camera that I can put some proper L glass on :(

Just get her to click here

:exit:

 we only jest.

Tis quality to see someone so young all fired up about togging.

I bet soon she will be teaching her old man about taking great shots.

Best of luck to her...and her dads wallet keeping up with 2 lots of equipment and glass

wish someone had given me a Nikon at that age :D

I gave my youngest my 400D spare body to use. He promptly 'borrowed' my 70-200 f4 and I never got it back. Still it was a good excuse to tell my wife I needed to replace it, with the 70-200 f2.8 IS.

But start them young and they get very good. Not sure my wife thinks so when he's trying to get down to the same level as the subject.

P.S. Doesn't nikon have white balance adjustment :D ;)

Poor kid. Somebody ring Social Services. ;)

I wanted to take up photography from a very young age but it was only the immediacy ( is that a word???) of digital that fired me up. I hated waiting for films to be processed. This young lady is able to look at her pics immediately & it keeps her interest going. Lovely homely images

Brilliant John,

Now you will find out what it is like to have your lenses stolen by the kids :)

We still haven't all been out on a togging mission !!

She has got 100 photos in the bag so far and even took her camera out to Frankie & Benny's for her birthday meal last night, We have lots of waiter shots :) some baloon's and OMG loads of photo's of me!!!!

It's not borrowing the lenses I mind it's another HDD needed  although she seems to be better at pp than I am and does her own levels/contrast/high pass sharpening

Thanks for your messages and JadeyLady is looking forward to her first TP meet at Martin Mere Saturday (not too late to join us) Lots more pp'ing for me then  As for the auto focus Nikon lens link acs. You have a very sick mind :nono:

Yv I don't think my "spare body under the radar plot" seems to have worked.

Are you going to Martin Mere tomorrow in a months time Mr Cowasaki? Could be your excuse to find all your lenses in one place :)

oh myyyyyyyyyyyyyy nearly forgot about the martin mere meet, It will be great to see you again,

Will be great to meet you again too Carol. I will be off to MM tomorrow anyway as I have already promised Jadey a visit doh!

great photos.. my little grandson loves taking photos with grandma's 'cheese' so funny seeing him putting the view finder up to his eye but missing completely.. bless him, he's only 2 the camera is nearly as big as him!.. will have to get live view.. any excuse to get a D90 :D

hope she had a lovely birthday.. wont be at MM as working that weekend, but sure our paths will cross at future meets.. have fun both of you ;)

The good togs always go Canon in the end, even if they grew up with Nikon, the best camera always show! Glad to see her getting along in the photography world as well.

She always seems to get the shot unlike her dad. Saved the day when we were at the National Drum Fair as I chopped off the top of my nephews Mohawk in every shot. Jadey got it though :)

will we ever beat the russians...

Glad to here Jadey is enjoying her present

Richard

No she can jump in on mine and be logged in to her account in the time it takes me to make a coffee though.

That's no good for our new youngest member. What we need is a whip round of old bits.......

I have a complete computer base unit that works and a keyboard.....

So all we need now is a mouse and a licence for Windows

I have as much network cable as you need too, what do you think.

I can re-install it with XP home SP2 but don't have any licences left.

Think I have just found a mouse now so just need an XP HOME licence and an old monitor ! I am sure someone will have an old one lying around even if it is an old CRT one for the moment.

I've got an old Philips flat screen monitor she can have. Not the new wide screen version. But still ok.

Kev.

I see she took the picture in the mirror with the camera, its all blurry.....yep its a Nikon:lol:

seriously though..........way to go:thumbs:

Cool stuff, John ! Never mind religion, you've started her off on the right path with your choice of a Nikon (actually the Japanese word meaning, "the path to enlightenment", by the way ;)).

Now she can record her own childhood and leave you free to get on and just enjoy it :p!
