Thinking of trying to pick up a s/h A mount 70-400 to use with my LA EA3, Ive seen some pretty good results with it
Funnily enough I think the old Minolta 85mm/1.4 is actually the fastest focussing and smallest 85mm f1.4 lens
I've got the Minolta 85 f/1.4 G RS, it is inded a very fine lens.

yes and screw drives aren't best at AF-C sometimes
I remember my 80-200 HS APO, you could feel the torque through the lens, nuts.

Walkabout, sure but what I do with it will be more portraits which is a couple of hours shoot. Size is pretty much a non-issue.

I’m not following, man. Something you bought from Katcha, I presume? Just because it’s shipped from Ireland doesn’t make it not grey. Panamoz ship from the UK, for example.
He knows its grey mate, but thought it was Irish at the time of purchase.

I bought off EBay a new 100mm STF a few days ago from a seller in Ireland. They did state it's an import, but assumed it was already in Ireland. It seems it's being shipped from their supplier to Ireland before being shipped to me. I am not complaining as it was cheap (under £1k), they have good feedback and have been very open about the delivery schedule since contacting them.
Yes, they use Ireland as an easier way through customs, some companies also use France.
