Kipon Canon FD - NEX adapter surgery, as promised:
When it arrived lenses wouldn't mount, at all. Flipping it upside down revealed the problem: The aperture stop down actuator (a simple screw through the side!) is fitted in the wrong location, it stops the lens sitting flush onto the bayonet.

So I took it out and attacked it with a grinder until the lens would mount and the lever would move freely.

Then there was another problem. The ring that moves the stop down pin is too loose, so I took out the spring behind the ball bearing that gives the click and replaced it with a solid chunk of elastic band. That holds the ball bearing much more firmly against it's detent recess and still has enough give that the ring can be turned.
So that was a PITA, but it now works and I am very much enjoying using the 58mm f1.2!
