I did like the a7ii only took it back as it was full of dust bunnies no one seen one as bad. But I feel the a7r2 is more of a upgrade if got for £1700. That why I sent my latest one back even thou that was free of dust bunnies
 
well i sorted my reach issue out the D500 arrived yesterday with my 600mm Sigma, that's that area covered off now. Now time to save for this GM 24/70 and go all native sony.....

@rookies you got the A7 yet or you still deciding, save up for the Rii you know its what you want :)

I did put a thread up with these in People & Portraits but I thought I'd cross post here as they were taken with my A7 on Friday evening.

Long shots are using the relatively humble Canon FDn 135mm f/2.8 rather than the much bulkier and heavier f/2.0; I needed a selection of lenses I could keep in my pockets to go to the gig. The wider shot is the ubiquitous FDn 50mm f/1.4.

As it suppose to have a faster AF
More MP for flexibility of Cropping if needed.

Am sure there some other things that meant to be better?
 
How do people manage taking images in CAF and continue shutter of like kid running or similar as we know EVF blacks out
 
TBH it nothing that would bother me as it something I don't do a lot of

Not an issue for me personally. You should have noticed it at the time during owning a few mirrorless cameras recently. So if you didn't, it likely won't cause you a problem.

If you are machine gunning, like twist said the buffer may cause you a problem. Again for me it's not been a problem yet.

Every camera is going to have its imperfections, so look at what you need the camera to do for you and pick one that best suits your needs.

Then there you go. No need to be concerned, for me its a bit of an issue. Weigh up the pros and cons, the A7rii is not a camera really built for speed.

Very nice indeed, lovely colours! The 25mm lens length is simply superb.

It is ( of course) open to personal interpretation - but for me what you have here is a soviet futuristic design ( futuristic for 1935) which is intended to show a bright and perfect future for Stalinist style communism. The blown bulb represents that all political visions are not perfect - even when it's built in something as permanent as concrete and stone.
Most images contain an allegorical element - it's just that people are used to reading these elements in paintings but not usually in photography.

Sorry boys been promoted at work and seem to get zero hours to myself atm..... going from part time to full time is a massive change lol...... have a sony a7sii and a a7rii again ...... I will be listing a metabones adapter for canon if anyone is after one as I don't actually have any canon glass except the 200-400 ex lol anyways take care everyone and chat soon :-)

i am M8 but i don't have a Sony just like to troll the different threads but i have gone back to an original fuji X100 and loving it but if i could afford it would like a nice Sony

I think Jonathans last sentence is very true for you @rookies. If you want the AF and the cropping you're possibly better going with a D810 and if you save any money by not changing systems again, perhaps you could buy a cheap A7 and build up the Sony system slowly.

Why does the work day always drag when you have a shiny new 16-35 waiting for you at home. Hurry up 4pm.
Quite eager to get it on the camera and take it for a walk.

Got to praise Panamoz again as well, ordering to my door in 2 days.

Just on the whole gas thing.

I see people on this forum constantly buying kit and swapping backwards and forwards and occasionally posting extreme views on the system they're just ditched or bought into and I often wonder what's going on.

I can see the appeal of the kit within reason but all this gear lust and changing systems multiple times doesn't appeal to me. For me a better way is to think about what I want to achieve and how and that's helped me to buy kit that suits my needs. My needs are met by two system, one offering high quality in a compact package and the other offering decent quality in an even smaller package.

I can see other abilities and featurs appealing to others but I do wonder if all this swapping and angst is necessary and wonder if it could be avoided by putting a bit more thought into what people want to achieve and what kit to select.

But, gotta have a hobby I suppose.
 
Some people just like the latest and greatest, or aren't being totally honest with them selves when it comes to what gear they need vs want. I could come up with many reasons to "upgrade" to the A7R2 but for me its a downgrade, its bigger and heavier and offers nothing but negatives for me.

Yup.

I think time could be a factor too as some don't seem to give themselves enough time to get used to new kit before they're off buying something else.

Has anyone here use a A7ii with a 85mm batis pls.

Made by the famous Russian artist Dyeneka, each lighted dome has a mosaic of an airoplane ... says the wife.
She had a teacher who'se mother helped make the scetches for the mosaics ... and probably created one of them herself.
That's exotic inside-information right there folks!!

85mm is a bit on the long side for me and I don't use it all that much so I'm happy with a cheap film era 85mm, or three, for occasional use :D

Available for £2005 from Panamoz just a thought really but if the £ drops in value after referendum camera gear will go up of course if sterling goes up camera would be cheaper remember you get extended warranty

Sorry no idea about 85mm
