I think you need to try one, realise how horrible they feel in the hand and then that will cure your GAS ;)

Some of the best wedding photographers in the world 'still' use D750s, it's not exactly a camera that's going to hold you back in any way. Personally silent shooting was a game changer for me but that aside the D750 will take everything anyone can throw at it.

Lol I doubt one person leaving has impacted their prices that much, it’s just the nature of business sometimes where some margins are smaller than others etc.

I’m not going to get into a debate on pricing/discounts but I’ve been pretty happy.

while I agree I can generally get better results out of capture one, LR6 is still a better well-rounded overall software. It does pretty much everything I need to do without having to use 2-3 other things.

If nothing else the abysmal performance, the time lost will pay for whatever replacement let alone your blood pressure.

Well maybe it's just me but life's too short to waste it on software that feels like it's running on an early 90's computer.

Best moving from canon to Sony as u can use majority of canon glasses fine on it. Even for pro work. Did so by doing a photo shoot just with the Canon 70-200 F2.8 and it came out brilliant

EVF is subjective
DR will be negligible - if DR on the D750 isn't good enough for you then you're finding issues that don't exist
Smaller package - yes until you stick a 2.8 zoom on it and then its the same size
Better for video - yes true
IBIS - yes true
Better AF - how do you know? Have you tested both?

If those advantages are worth double the price on the body and double the price for the same lens then spot on.
 
Will try the 70-200 next week and see how it feels before I decide. It’s either a new lens for the D750 or complete commitment to the A7iii!!

Runs fine for me, always has done. In fact it's faster that most others I have tried (dxo, CO, gimp).

What else would you suggest, I am always open no suggestions :)

Specs don't lie. Almost full coverage af makes it better for af already. Plus eye af to boot

Dont need to. tons of videos showing full af coverage, fast af tracking and eye af.

Dont need to try everything before you buy thanks to youtube.

Watch the videos and make your own mind up if you think its worth it or not.

Like i said previously. Stick with your d750 and stop lusting over sony gear as its clear the d750 aint lacking for your needs

I think the issue may be that the Sony body range are considerable smaller than the dslr in the picture.

I’ve got an 85 and 135 so I don’t think there is much need for it to go in my kit bag

TBH in the last two years I've found them pretty inflexible and can always find better deals elsewhere. Shame as it was/is a really great shop and I used to buy a lot of stuff from them.

EVF is subjective
DR and AF have they even been tested properly yet? Yes the AF coverage is nice I won't deny it, eye AF meh, but what's most important for me is AF acquisition and tracking. Only when this has been established can I comment on which has the best AF.

My reasons for considering the A7iii, but please correct me if I am wrong on anything as this decision need to be right. I have the D500 a trial and I have put that idea to bed.

Obviously a lot of this will come down to how the Sony + 70-200 feels in the hand as it’s a big heavy lens on a small body!

Ignoring the obvious cost, advantages over my D750:

Loads more focus points which I image give better tracking when doing my equestrian work. Of course I could be wrong - but in the first batch of videos it seems to track the dune buggies very well.

Higher FPS.

Sometimes I like to go light with just the 50mm, the A7 would be even smaller package. With the 70-200 there would be no obvious benefit size or weight wise!

Eye detect, I wonder if this will work on horses eyes?

Quiet shutter - quite nice when shooting an a very quiet dressage arena. The D750 was pretty loud in the indoor arena last time out as there was no other noise apart from the horse movements and my clicks.

I’m not going to rush and pre order, well not until I have at least tried the A7r in hand next week to see how it handles.

More AF points won't necessarily give better tracking, the only real advantage is IF your subject moves close to the edge of the frame. Smaller package with a prime? Yes, a little but it always surprises me how light the D750 and 50mm f1.8 combo is on the rare time I use it. Higher FPS can be an advantage for sure. I don't think you'd be wanting to use the silent shutter indoors tbh due to the banding in artificial light.

The question is, is the slightly smaller package, wider AF spread, and FPS worth the £2k+ it'd cost you to change bearing in mind your final image will be no better, and arguably worse if you don't fix the colours.

Spot on. Sony a7rii has 399 but doesn’t focus acquire or track as well as the d750
 
I was dissapointed with the A6000 ,lots of af points etc but so many misses,not all down to my crap photography skills
 
Handled the r111 in LCE Manchester early in the week.
They didn’t have a 24-105 to try on it as they had sold their only one that morning
They attached another Sony lens that is similar size and weight.
It felt front heavy.
With so much Nikon (and a little Fuji) I will wait a while to see what Nikon brings.
