The Amazing Sony A1/A7/A9/APS-C & Anything else welcome Mega Thread!

Here's an image taken from the Pergear product page for the same cards, it's either a straight up lie or that's the speeds i should be getting :p

Well that looks eroneous as the write speeds are faster than read and faster than the max published speed so I'd be taking that with a large pinch of salt. However, here's the result from my card this morning. I ran several tests, most were above 1100mb/s write, once it dropped down to around 800mb/s.

The second card is consistently slightly slower, but still not slow

Had a go at some film style processing in keeping with the subject

Yeah same one I am using, is that through a standard USBC port or a thunderbolt port?
I think all mine are thunderbolt, I have the M1 Max Macbook Pro

Out of interest I've tested my SD cards, the Manfrotto Professional UHS-II are pretty bad, aroung 65mb/s write, the Kingston Canvas React Plus (280mb/s) are over 200mb/s write, Lexar Professional 1667 (silver) got up as high as 260mb/s but settle around 95mb/s write, and my UHS-I V30 Sandisk Extreme Pro are around 55mb/s write.

These were all tested using my Macbook's own SD card slot.

A couple of shots of Loughwood Meeting House in East Devon - a very quaint 17th Century Baptists Meeting house

Especially like Saltburn Pier. And the figure on the left completes it.

I thought she was going to walk down my side of the pier so I thought I had a couple more seconds to get ready to snap her between the pier legs but then she turned to go under the pier so it was a bit of a rush.

For testing cards, if you're comfortable with the command line and on a Mac I'd recommend f3 (you can install with home-brew) - it writes to fill up the card, then a second command to read back and check the data is correct. So you get a a test of both reported size vs actual capacity as well as speed (it's relatively easy to make a small card appear as a larger card, if selling fakes).

I’ll give that a go and see what the results are.
Any joy from Pergear?
I would probably be looking to return them as faulty
Nothing as of yet.

She actually looks bigger than she is! Although she does seem to be tall.... She's a Jack, 9 weeks old tomorrow - we picked her up last weekend.

Microchipped, first lot of jabs done last Tuesday so hopefully by the end of August she'll be free to go outside properly. It means we miss a few events we had planned for August but nevermind.

I love how she’s sat it the first photo, adorable

The missus said she reminds her of a gangly teenager :ROFLMAO:

We lost Millie back in January if you all remember and we were always going to get another dog. We've had a few things going on this year, stuff we've been busy with, my stepdad passed away in April, holidays etc but getting her now, hopefully we can have a Sept/Oct break somewhere again.

I’ve had a reply from Pergear CS, they’ve asked me to provide some details, which port was used etc, what app I used to test the cards, where I downloaded it from so they can try and work out if it’s a bottleneck on my end or they’re fake cards.

Can they not immediately tell you if they are fake from the serial number?

Its not impossible, is the camera still under warranty?
Harrisons have just confirmed that the dust is not on my sensor but under the sensor filter unfortunately so I'm going to have to contact Sony to see what the fix and cost is :(

Does anyone know how much a shop would devalue my camera if I was to trade it in, they're only two tiny specs?

I’d be very surprised if the likes of MPB would even catch that, unless you can see it physically when looking at the sensor?
