The Best Glass 18-50mm

just wanted some advice from users on the best glass
18-50 ish range

There is the Sigma 18-50 F2.8 EX DG Macro. Comes in most mounts and is pretty well recommended for it's low(ish) price.

i will gladly spend £500
just want the best quality that i can get

From the research i did I think the Tamron 17-50 Di XR II f2.8 is a very good lens, i have one now and am over the moon with it.

I can also personally recommend the tamron 17-50 which complements my D200 well. It is generally regarded as a better lens than the sigma 18-50. Money no object - go for the nikkor 17-55.

Tokina 16-50 has recently come onto the market but reviews appear rather luke-warm towards it.

So, for your budget, the only choice is the tamron imo.

Agreed, the next step up from that is the Nikkor 17-55 which is around £850+ new
